Alabama ranked 50 out of 51 for access to mental health care – NBC 15 WPMI

The National Alliance on mental illness reported in 2021 that 1 in 5 people in the United States experiences mental illness each year.
The statistics are staggering. The report reveals nearly 800,000 adults in Alabama have mental health conditions and more than half did not receive treatment due to lack of access to care and lack of insurance. A second study shows 90% of the people who say they need help are women.
