How There Could Finally Be A Cure For Diabetes
Over the past 20 years, significant advancements in stem cell research and therapies have been one of the most promising methods of creating new insulin making cells needed to cure type 1 diabetes.
Vertex Pharmaceuticals, a biotech company, recently began a clinical trial where it plans to treat 17 participants who have type 1 diabetes with new stem cell derived insulin making cells. The first patient in the trial has had positive results.
Other companies around the world including ViaCyte and CRISPR, as well as Novo Nordisk, one of the biggest insulin manufacturers in the world, are also working on curing the disease. CNBC explores why finding a cure for diabetes is so hard and just how close Vertex and other companies are to solving this problem.

Big Farma would never allow this to happen, they make more money keeping people with diabetes and cancer and age then to free them of it, and when you hear about people reading themselves diabetes with the help of doctors and in surgeries including HIV age and cancer they usually people who can afford to buy the medication and the treatments that will eradicated from their bodies permanently. The average American cannot so big Pharma knows that and they make a lot of money from co-pays and medical insurance companies to keep people sick.

I was coming to this video as a T2 diabetic expecting to get angry because there is a cure for T2 diabetes already… stop eating carbs, get off insulin increasing drugs because that is only making T2 diabetes worse.
T1 being cured as this video is showing hope for, hey… I'm all for that. I just get enraged when people think T2 should be treated as T1. Insulin therapy is necessary for T1, absolutely, but for T2, the more insulin you intake, the more insulin resistant you become further making T2 diabetes worse. And they do that all in the name of looking at Blood Glucose Levels and meds to treat it, rather than REALLY addressing the elephant in the room. STOP EATING CARBS and exercise to increase insulin sensitivity. Exercise is not for weight loss in a T2 diabetic, its to increase insulin sensitivity, its increasing insulin through pills or bolus to control blood glucose which is making the disease worse.
To my T1 diabetic cousins, sorry to put you through that I'm off my soapbox now, and let me just say, good for you guys there is light at the end of your tunnel.
