In this Convo we discuss the realities and hardships of medical racism for Black communities. Kareem King the Community Engagement Director of We Got Us Project leads us on an in depth presentation on the history of medical racism, starting from slavery to present day, and speakers Dr. Jeffrey Edwards from Boston Children’s Hospital, David “Mecca” Crump co-founder of Project 2043, and Kent Whitlock share their insight, lived experiences, and professional knowledge around how medical racism has impacted communities of color during and after the pandemic. Community members share their experiences and ideas for change in a fantastic exchange of wisdom and potential solutions for action.
