The New “Endemic Phase” and a Vaccine Update
In this Covid Grand Rounds, we’ll begin with a pandemic update from Monica Gandhi and Peter Chin-Hong. We’ll discuss the CDC’s new mask guidance, the Omicron sub-variant, infection-related and hybrid immunity, and what it means to enter the “endemic phase.”
In the second segment, Bonnie Maldonado of Stanford University will give us a vaccine update, including the evidence of waning immunity after vaccination, the prospects for a second booster, the state of vaccines for children, and new vaccine candidates, including Omicron-specific boosters. The session will be moderated by Bob Wachter.

This discussion here of the data on myocarditis and pericarditis emphasizes "longer intervals" between boosters to reduce risks, particularly for males aged 18-24, and emphasizes that the risks per million are "low." WHY is there no mention whatsoever of the data on the risks introduced by vaccine administration that does not include needle aspiration? The danger of no needle aspiration is not a mere rumor. There is a data-based reason why several nations now require (or have reinstated) needle aspiration for all vaccinations. Wherever there is risk, low or not, if there is a measure that can reduce it further, why not do that, as public policy? But just as important, why not even MENTION this issue via discussion on this program? Where there is risk, there should be choice. Uninformed, people don't know to ask for needle aspiration. Uninformed about which facilities are using this method, people don't know to choose them. These are young people who are getting myocarditis and pericarditis, some with permanent damage to their hearts. Even one "excess" (and preventable) case of this serious, preventable condition is significant. Picture it is your son. Ask if "inconvenience" seems like a reasonable justification for not doing it.

Here is what I see in the CDC data. 1) 75% of the US population has been vaccinated. 2) 32% of children aged 5-11 have received dose 1.
Parents took the vaccines, but in the end they were never successfully convinced of the safety. They drew the line at their children. I can't think of a better metric than that for public health failure to convince.
Stories like whistle-blower Brook Jackson and Pfizer hiding their adverse event data give parents good reason to be concerned. I think this comparison reveals how massive is the trust gap between the public and big-pharma public health.

Pretty stunned that you continue to have Monica Gandhi representing your university considering that many well credredentialled peers have come done hard (and rightly so) on her irresponsible statements. Masks help little as typically used but do so much long term harm. Need I list these harms? Biggest is psychological submission and social division and hatred fueled by fear and terror, encouraged by policy and blindness to harm done. Obsession does not listen to alternative views.

Pfizer released date on some of the potential side effects of the covid 19 vaccine. These are the three out of the 1200 that stood out to me most as I am pregnant. Low birth weight, neonatal seizures, Stillbirth. Doctors who push this vaccine should be banned from practicing. What happened to first do no harm?
The most frightening part of the virus attack…as a non medical observer… was the immediate political lens and attack mode….the virus took. It ended up destroying faith and goodwill of medical professionals. Why do Germany and Denmark require a different technique for COVID vaccine administration? They require a slight withdrawal of the syringe plunger after needle placement to verify that no blood enters the syringe. They are concerned about the unintentional placement of the needle in a blood vessel prior to injection of the vaccine into the deltoid. Both countries think there is sufficient anatomical variation to make this a small but significant risk, especially in young males whose muscles are more innervated with blood vessels.

Many of the unvaccinated who were hospitalized likely had previous, undiagnosed natural infections that afforded them no protection whatsoever. This study misrepresented the protection from natural infection for that reason. All this study showed was that natural infection, that was so symptomatic that it led to a diagnosis, afforded slight protection over vaccination. But those diagnosed natural infections were likely associated with an increased risk of autoimmune disorders that were not studied or documented!
