What is programmatic assessment?

YouTube video

The UM vision on assessment focuses on creating meaningful assessment that like learning, is constructive, collaborative, contextual and self-directed. To achieve this, our degree programmes should provide greater opportunities for students to reflect on and learn from feedback with guidance and coaching from staff. This also needs coordination at a programme level.

One method of achieving this, might be to implement Programmatic Assessment. In this EDLAB interview, Prof. Cees van der Vleuten explains what Programmatic Assessment is and what it could mean for UM. Prof. van der Vleuten is Professor of Education at FHML and Maastricht University’s foremost expert on evaluation and assessment.
